Hear directly from educators and students about the impact this program makes!

All About Food Allergy is a free, medically-reviewed, curriculum-linked program that gives students the knowledge and skills to help keep themselves and others safe and healthy.

When classrooms include food allergy in their discussions, students learn what the condition is, how reactions can be prevented, and—most importantly—how they can foster inclusivity and support classmates living with food allergy.

Learn more about our program at foodallergycanada.ca/SchoolProgram and share the information with teachers at your school.

Running 890 km for food allergy awareness: Cathy’s trailblazing journey

Cathy in action!

Cathy Gallagher is running the entire Bruce Trail—890 km worthy of grit, determination, and heart. But this isn’t just an ultra-endurance feat, Cathy is lacing up her running shoes for a purpose: to raise funds for Food Allergy Canada and illuminate the daily challenges faced by families managing food allergy.

Personal motivation on every step
For Cathy, this run is deeply personal. Her youngest child, Jerrick, once allergic to pistachios and cashews and later diagnosed with a milk allergy, helped fuel her mission. From countless doctor visits to navigating allergy-safe meals, Cathy and her family have experienced the emotional and practical strain of food allergy firsthand.

This trail—a rugged stretch of Ontario wilderness—is her canvas for awareness, where every kilometre represents the strength families muster each day to keep their children safe.

Watch our special message thanking Cathy!

Blazing trail, building awareness
Cathy started her journey on September 1, 2025, and chose a meaningful backdrop to amplify her advocacy. Her ambition goes beyond raising funds—she’s wants to create awareness so industries like restaurants, grocery stores, and pharmaceuticals truly recognize the seriousness of food allergy and the everyday struggles Canadians with food allergy face.

As she conquers forests, hills, and heart-pounding terrain, Cathy’s updates—shared across Instagram—offer a window into resilience, hope, and community support.

Rallying for real impact
Cathy has set her sights on a goal of $22,500. To date, she’s raised over $20,000—a testament to her determination and the generosity of allies across Canada.

Your support helps power vital education, advocacy, and resources—lifting up thousands of families managing food allergy. And your voice matters: sharing her story under #FoodAllergyTrailRun helps shine even more light on this essential cause.

Stay prepared this pollen season

Ragweed and mugwort pollen are common causes of Fall pollen allergies. If you have itching or tingling in your throat after eating certain fresh fruits, vegetables, and tree nuts, it might be pollen food allergy syndrome (PFAS), also known as oral allergy syndrome (OAS).
