Medical misinformation: Peanut vaccine

You may have seen recent viral social media posts claiming that a peanut allergy vaccine developed at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON can cure peanut allergy in 4 injections and is imminently available.

While we had determined that the source appeared to be AI/Bot generated, on behalf of the community, we reached out to McMaster to confirm that the posting was inaccurate. Please refer to their official statement at the link below.

You can count on Food Allergy Canada to be your trusted source of credible information, and we are here to help our community navigate emerging news. Please reach out to us anytime at info@foodallergycanada.ca. if you are unsure about news you are reading.
